Testing at UMC...

We went to UMC on Thursday for Raylin's EMG and Nerve Conduction Study. It was not fun at all, but she did great. The staff even bragged that she was the best two year old they had ever had. The neurologist said that she had excellent results. PRAISE GOD! Thank you again for all of your prayers. I will keep you updated!
She got a singing Cinderella from us and a singing and dancing bunny from Gran for being such a big girl. I hate I did not get pictures of her when she opened these because she was so excited. I think she immediately forgot about the pain she had been in.

Walking in to UMC for the tests...

Playing at the Doctor's Office...

These are some pictures I took of Raylin while we were at the doctor last week for genetic tests. She had so much fun playing before they had to take blood. She was such a trooper and got a tea set and a white furry bear for being so good.

She loves to play with my cell phone!

Playing peek a boo with daddy!

Daddy hiding from Raylin behind the garbage can! They were probably glad to see us leave!

Weekend at the River

Last weekend, we went to the river to see Gran and Gramp. Brigg and Gramp fished and Gran, Raylin and I shopped and played. On Friday, we went to a farm in Macon. Raylin loved all of the animals, especially Archie, the turkey. I love the pictures of all of the animals following her. So cute!

T-Town!!!

Last Saturday, my mom, Aunt Linda and Raylin and I met Keri and Steven in Tuscaloosa for lunch at The Fig. It was so great to see them even though Raylin acted like a hornet the entire time we were waiting and eating. It was definitely not one of her better days. I think she was just tired from not napping at the river and she must not have felt great either. But it was still fun to visit with Keri and Steven. As you can see by the last two pics, Raylin was not having a great day!!!

Valentines Day!

I know I am really behind on posting, but as most of you know, we have had a LOT going on. So here are a few pictures from Valentines Day. Raylin spent the night with Julz and Pops the night before Valentines Day. Brigg and I went to get her in Magee that afternoon so we took her Valentine happy. She opened it in the truck. She was so excited, but definitely was not acting herself. She felt pretty warm and Julz said she had a little fever that afternoon after her nap. Well when we got home, I checked her temp and she was burning up with 104 fever. We rubbed her down with ice water while she screamed bloody murder and gave her motrin. The bottom picture is of her reading a book that Aunt Moc Moc brought to her Valentines night. You can tell in these pictures that she is not feeling well at all. I took her to see Dr. Joe and he said she had a fever virus. It lasted for four days. Poor baby!

PRAYER REQUEST - UPDATE ADDED!!!

I just wanted to ask everyone to please remember Raylin in your prayers tonight and tomorrow. She goes tomorrow at 2:30 for the awful tests that I told you about here. We appreciate your prayers so much! We know that she is a child of THE KING and she is in HIS hands!!!!

Just wanted to post a few pictures of her in the bathtub last night with Chopper. It was hilarious! She had the best time, but Chopper - not so much!!! I can't get enough of her precious laugh and smile!

Update!!!!
GOD IS SO GOOD!!!
The tests are over and Raylin did great. She was such a trooper. They were awful, but they are done. She got a GREAT report. The neurologist said that her nerve conduction was great and her muscle function was normal. PRAISE GOD! Now we are just waiting on the genetic tests to come back and that should be about a month.
Thank you to all of you for your prayers, sweet comments, cards, flowers and texts. It means so much to us. We are BLESSED beyond measure with the most awesome family and friends.
We love each of you!

She tried real hard to keep him from jumping out of the tub, but he finally escaped!

Making Valentine Cookies!!!

Yesterday, Andrea and Hank came over so that the kiddos could decorate a Valentine cookie for Brigg and Chad. Hank really got into decorating his. I had to help Raylin because all she wanted to do was eat the cookie and icing. After they got through, Andrea decided to let them eat Chad's cookie. They loved it. We stripped them down and they got cookie and icing everywhere. They had so much fun! After a bath, we all went to Chick-fil-a. Raylin and Hank played and Andrea and I ate and chatted. What a fun day!!!

I'm not real sure why Raylin felt the need to put her foot in the cookie, but she did. She just hiked it up there before we could stop her. That is Andrea's hand just a little bit too late!!!

They both love a bath and neither one of them wanted to get out. While I was letting the water run, they were both in the tub and I turned around and Hank was peeing on Raylin's shoulder. Raylin was just watching it thinking it was hilarious. So we let that water out and started over. They are so funny! Andrea and I are constantly laughing when they are playing together.

Fun with Baker and Sidney!!!

Tonight we went to the Mckenzie's for dinner. Raylin loves to play with Baker and all of his boy toys. We had lots of fun and had a great dinner! Here are a few pics from our fun night...
This is the only picture I got of both of them smiling.

I know it looks like Raylin is thinking about hitting Baker in this picture, but she is really about to hug him. We asked her to give him a hug and she was putting her arm around him. So sweet!
Now it was Baker's turn to give Raylin a kiss! She just doesn't look like she is enjoying it which made her Daddy really happy!
I think they have both had enough Valentine love for the night!!!

Just because...

These are a few pictures I took this week of Raylin. I had to post because they really show how much her hair has grown since I got it cut. It is definitely starting to look less like a mullet! As you can see in these pictures, she is getting so tall! I do believe she will be taking after her Daddy. Of course, I'm not exactly short! She has my hair though. Natural curl in all the wrong places :)!!! Bless her!!! I had to take a picture of her with her Strawberry Shortcake doll because that is her new favorite toy. She loves to push her in the stroller and rock her in her rocking chair. It is so sweet to watch her "pretend play." It is also exciting because that is one of those developmental milestones that we have been watching for. She also loves to get the phone and put it to her ear. She doesn't actually like anyone to be on the other end though. She just likes to hold it there. She loves to brush her hair and tries to put bows in her hair and her doll's hair. So cute! Enjoy the new pics!!!

She loves to crawl in our cabinets in the den!

"This ain't my first rodeo - Well actually it is!"

Sunday afternoon, we went to the Dixie National Rodeo with the Segrest family! We had so much fun! Raylin loved it! It lasted almost three hours and Raylin was entertained the entire time which is saying A LOT!!! Of course, she did have cotton candy, funnel cake and lemonade that probably helped. Everytime the bulls or horses would come out, Raylin would say "Moo." Many thanks to the Segrest's! We had a great time!!!

All ready to go to the rodeo!!!

This is a Hooter's frisbee that was caught for Raylin at the rodeo!

This is a picture of Raylin with Chad's uncle. She sat with him for at least half of the rodeo! A complete stranger to her, but she wanted to sit with him!

Just an update...

These are a few pictures from a few weekends ago when Aunt Cam Cam, Neely, Julz and Pops were here for Joni's baby shower.
I know it has been forever since I have posted, but things have been a little stressed around the Abercrombie house. First of all, Raylin had the stomach virus and I had a sinus infection. That same week, I found out that Pfizer is buying Wyeth so I am really stressed about losing my part time job that I love! Then I got the stomach virus. During all this we had Raylin's follow up neurology appointment and did not get the best news. So it has been a lot to handle to say the least!
I haven't posted a lot about Raylin and her doctor appointments on the blog, but I am going to share a little bit now because I want everybody to please pray for our baby girl. A little background info: Raylin is developmentally delayed. She was a late crawler and late walker and still is not talking. We are seeing a developmental pediatrician and a pediatric neurologist. She has had a MRI and the results were normal - PRAISE!!! She has also had elevated CK levels in the past, but not too elevated that the neurologist was concerned. She just said we would check them again. Well last Wednesday when we went to her follow up visit with the neuro, she was concerned about Raylin's head size and it had hardly grown during the past six months. She was also concerned that she had not made improvements in her expressive language. Although, Raylin has extremely improved in her receptive language. She is understanding so much and following directions so well - at least when she wants to! The neurologist referred us to another pediatric neurologist for a second opinion and a geneticist. Raylin has to have a EMG and a nerve conductor test in the next few weeks so please pray for her. I am so worried about the nerve conduction test because it is going to be painful for her and they cannot sedate her. The test is February 26th so please pray that Raylin will make it through okay and that I will be strong for her. Her geneticist appt is February 25th. I don't know why I decided today to post all this, other than I just want everybody that reads our blog to please PRAY! I know that she is in GOD's hands and He is in control and He answers prayers! Thank you to my family and friends that have been there for me this last week. It has really been tough and I have really appreciated all the support and encouragement.

On a lighter note, I have to tell a story about my fashion queen and this cute snowman dress that Gran made for her. Last week, Gran, Raylin and I went to Quilt Arts to look at fabric and Raylin had this dress on. The ladies in the store had a fit over it. They had to take her to the back and show everybody. Raylin was loving all the attention. Later that afternoon, we went to UMC for Raylin's therapy and the girls up front were telling her how cute her hair was (I had it in pigtails with curly bows). She started pulling down on her dress and pulling it out wanting them to comment on her dress. It was hilarious. Gran said, she is thinking, I know my hair is cute, but just look at my dress - it's cute too! I think we may have to quit telling her how pretty she is because it may be going to her head just a little bit!
