The Guest's new tube

Sunday afternoon when we got home from the river, we went straight to the reservoir. You were so excited to go see "Muh Buh." You grabbed your life jacket and would not even put it down to get in the car seat. They got a new tube and MB wanted you to ride with her. You immediately got on and y'all had a great time, but it did get a little rough so we made y'all get off. We all got in the water for a little while and then we went to Philip's to eat. We sat outside and there was a band so you, MB and Beau danced the entire time we ate. We have had so many fun times on the boat with the Guest's this summer!

I think you missed MB just a little bit!!! You wouldn't even sit with Mommy on the boat!

Fun Day in Birmingham

Gran and Gramp brought you and Daddy to Birmingham Saturday morning. Y'all came by the church where we were getting ready for Keri's wedding. You came in and saw all the girls and weren't real excited about leaving, but Gran called me after y'all got in the car and said you were fine. I knew you would be because y'all were going to the Bass Pro Shop and to the McWane Center. Since I didn't go, Gran took all these pictures so I am going to let her tell you all about your fun day while Mommy and Daddy were at Keri and Steven's wedding.

Sharing some love with Mr. Potato Head.
Getting a good look inside the fish!

So MUCH to do and so LITTLE time. Mr. Potato Head was the main attraction but you loved it all! We must go back!

Children's Museum in Tuscaloosa with Gran

Gran took you to Tuscaloosa to the Children's Museum while I went to Birmingham for Keri's luncheon and wedding rehearsal. These are all pictures that she took from your day. It looks like you had a blast by the pictures, but I am going to let Gran tell you all about your fun day!!!

Post by Gran:
This was a really special fun day for you and Gran. You loved exploring the farm, the hospital, the music room and all the other fun places in the Children's Museum. I loved watching you have so much fun. I don't know if you enjoyed the farm more or the hospital. You picked a lot of vegetables and took wonderful care of some babies in the hospital. So many things to touch and play with. We spent almost 3 hours and only left because it was lunch time. You would have been happy to spend the day.

You also took special care of Curious George. Such a sweet doctor to just
climb in the bed with the patient and enjoy a few cartoons together.

Martin's Anniversary Tea

We went to Philadelphia and met Gran and Gramp at the Martin's 60th Anniversary Tea. You went home with Gran and Gramp because Daddy and I had to help with a baby shower for Christine and Bryan. These are a few pictures I took at the park beside the library in Philadelphia before you left!

Special Date with Gran

Gran came to Jackson to take you to see Dora at the Thalia Mara Hall. I know you had a blast. Gran said you danced the entire time. You must have danced really hard because you lost your bow!!! Thank you to Gran for taking you on this special date. I know Raylin enjoyed every minute of it and it meant a lot to Mommy for Gran to drive here and have a "Raylin" day! I took this picture of you and Gran before you left! You were excited and ready to go and DID NOT want to stop for a picture!

Happy Birthday Hank!!!

Hank celebrated his fourth birthday with a party at the Shiloh Splash Pad. Daddy took you and I met y'all there because I had been in Birmingham for one of Keri's showers. I got up at 6:00 am and drove home so I could be at Hank's party with you. You were so excited to see me. I brought you a Sponge Bob stuffed animal as a "happy" and you loved him. Just take a look at these pictures! Excitement all over your sweet little face!

You wouldn't put him down the entire party!

You slid with Sponge Bob even!

And he must have tasted pretty good too because you always had him in your mouth!

Hank had a Monster Truck cake that you thoroughly enjoyed! Sponge Bob even came out of your mouth so you could eat some cake and ice cream!!!

Hank had lots of help with opening his presents. You really wanted to "help" too, but I made you just watch because Mommy thinks the birthday child should get to open and enjoy their presents! You weren't too happy about this so Khaki entertained you with bubbles!!! Thanks Khaki!

Fun Weekend at the River

We went to the river the weekend after July 4th to see Gran and Gramp. Seger came too and you had so much fun playing with him. Gramp took y'all out in the boat to a little mud island where y'all got out and played and swam in the nasty river water. Gran even got in, but Mama decided to stay in the boat this time. Gran took y'all to the neighbor's pool one afternoon. You liked going down the slide, but you were more concerned with getting out all of their pool toys and floats! You are doing really well swimming. Most of the time, you just had one floatie on because the other one kept coming off, but you were still able to swim! You are Mommy's little fish! You love the water!

Lake Tiak O'khata

On the way home from the river, Gran, Seger, and you and Mommy stopped at Lake Tiak O'khata to swim. You and Seger had so much fun! You loved the big slide especially going down it with Mama! Seger loved the slides too, but he really like jumping off the high dive. You probably would have jumped too if I would have let you. You have absolutely no fear!!! I don't think you were ready to leave when we had to go, but we had to get home to see Daddy! Thanks Gramp and Gran for a fun weekend!!!

Little Light House Interview

On July 7th, Daddy and I took you to the Little Light House School. We wanted to tour the school and had lots of questions for the director of the school. The Little Light House is a school for children with special needs so Daddy and I wanted to go and see if it would be a good fit for you. This picture was taken when we were on our way. When we got there, we toured each of the classrooms. You had so much fun going in the classrooms and playing with all of the children. We met the teachers and therapists. After our tour, Daddy and I had a meeting with the director and you played in the big auditorium with one of the teachers and some of the students. When Daddy and I came out of our meeting, you were in the buggy with some children and would not get out to come to us. It is very unusual for you not to want to come to Mommy, so we knew you were having a ball. I had to pull you out of the buggy. We even said "let's go get lunch" and you still didn't want to leave. So we know you enjoyed your time at the Little Light House. Hopefully, you will be able to go to school there soon, but you are #36 on the waiting list so it may be a while. Daddy and I are praying that if it is God's will for you to go here, then you will get in. We do know that you like it a lot and we felt very comfortable there too! We love you little monkey and we only want what is best for you and we KNOW that what is best for you is what God wants! In the meantime, you will continue to go to Lakeside and you love it there too as do we. So either way, right now you are happy and we will continue to pray for God's will to happen with the Little Light House School!

Pool Play Date

We have had lots of fun days at the neighborhood pool this summer. One afternoon, Andrea, Hank, Millie Kate, Nea Nea, MB, Beau, Carri, Preston, Ames, and Caroline came over to swim with you. You had so much fun playing with all of your friends. Ea brought a bubble blower that you, Hank and Preston decided to fight over so we eventually had to put it up. You loved Millie Kate's Disney princess float. And thank goodness Millie Kate didn't love it because I think there probably would have been another fight. After we all swam, we went to eat at Tex Mex! What a fun summer day!!!

Changes to our Blog

As many of you have already noticed, the blog is now private. I have decided to write the blog as somewhat of a letter to Raylin. Close friends and family will have access to read it, but it is going to just be for Raylin's scrapbook at the end of each year. I am going to write it to Raylin about things that she does each day. Sorry it has been so long since I have updated. The Abercrombie family has been busy these last few weeks of summer!
